In 2018, It started with a passion, a need, and an idea. I’ve spent the last 30+ years dedicating my life to helping others improve their quality of life through nursing, legislation, advocacy, volunteering and serving my country. As an oncology/critical care nurse, I witnessed patients and caregivers struggle with illness, adverse treatment sides effects, unintentional weight loss, poor wound healing and for some losing their lives. Nothing is more difficult than watching someone you care about waste away. I knew I couldn’t save everyone, but I could make their quality of life better.
In the past few years, science and healthcare professionals started recognizing the importance of good nutrition, gut health and the role it played in the immune system. Yet the high protein products on the market lacked sufficient protein, contained sugar alcohols, chemical additives and the taste and texture were horrible! No one considered how cancer treatments and other medical illnesses altered their ability to taste. Even now, those who have lost their sense of taste and smell due to Covid -19 struggle to eat.
The answer was to design and produce frozen desserts that tasted great, functional and could positively impact their quality of life and overall health. A product that can be enjoyed by everyone at any age and didn’t remind patients that they were ill. A product that could help prevent disease and speed up the body’s healing process.
HHC Brands is a food tech company that utilizes ice cream and frozen desserts as a medical/ wellness delivery system. Our technology, knowledge and expertise allow us to focus on targeted therapies and make people rethink ice cream as they never had before. Our goal is to produce and expand our holistic healthcare brands to represent our mission and values of combining evidence-based science, great taste, consumer safety and transparency while being socially and environmentally responsible.
